I love this series by Samantha Jacobey! It’s full of so many twists and turns and fantasy!
In this book, Charlie learns his childhood friend Tabatha married the town bully Brett and worries about Tabatha.
He also learns about his father! I can’t tell you more because it will ruin it for you.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves reading something that’s so different!

“Echo of Heartbreak, A Recipe for Life” is a short story written in the form of a letter from a very ill mother to her unborn daughter, telling her the incidents surrounding her birth, giving her advice on life, and leaving her the best of her family recipes.

A heartwarming story of love and devotion!
Echo of Heartbreak: A Recipe for Life, by Carol Ann Kauffman, is a heartwarming story of love and devotion a mother has for her unborn child. Knowing she may not live through the pregnancy or childbirth, she is still determined to bring her child into the world. So she begins to leave a legacy in the form of a journal, filled with tips of how to live a good life and adds recipes from her Italian heritage.
This is an extremely enjoyable story filled with emotion and sentiment. It shows , on every page, the love this mom has for her child, no matter what and plans ahead to teach her child about love and devotion. I also like the way the author enveloped the journal entries and the recipes in between the pages of the story, to tug our heartstrings along, every step of the way. (less)

Loving Marie: A Fairfield Corners Prequel by L.A. Remenicky – #ContemporaryWomensFiction, #WomensRomanceFiction

#Hoosierauthor #FairfieldCorners

Falling in love with his partner’s little sister was never part of the plan.
There was an order to James Marsden’s future : get a job as an Indianapolis cop, work his way up to detective, and then find a nice girl and start a family. He never planned on walking into a diner his first day as a rookie copy and for her to blow his entire timeline to smithereens.
When Marie Griffen’s older brother Steve introduced her to his new trainee, she was instantly drawn to his shy demeanor and blushing face. Only, she couldn’t act on her feelings even if she wanted to. Steve wanted her to date someone with a normal job – that wasn’t his partner. Marie just wanted to live her own life without her older brother watching over her.
Marie and James must decide if this off-limits romance is worth the risk or if the consequences are too much for either of them to bear.

Sherry Moran
Sweet romance!
Cute short romance about how James and Marie fell in love at first sight. Her overprotective brother tried to scare janes off but he got brave in the end and told her how he felt. Great introduction to the first book of the Fairfield series.

Blood Master (Book 1 of the G.O.D.S Series) by Kirsten Campbell – #DystopianFiction, #Paranormal&UrbanFantasy, #DystopianScienceFiction

#dystopian #bestseller #bookbooster
WARNING FOR 18+ ONLY
The G.O.D. series must be read in order

It’s 2052 and Earth has lost two-thirds of its population to the Great War. Many more lives were lost to earthquakes, the Clover Virus, and the Death Plague. Years later, survivors were clumped into factions. Two of the factions, the Guild and the Brotherhood, have fought over medical supplies and food for years. The fight is coming to a head as manpower dwindles, and the struggle becomes one to gain numbers, even if said numbers are children…
Griffin Storm is hiding out in Underground Atlanta. He’s an albino man that can manipulate glass and crystal, and he uses his special abilities to raid warehouses and old buildings for food and supplies for the abandoned children that live underground. During a raid, he meets Tassta Vinetti, a resident of the Brotherhood fortress. He is taken to the fortress and chaos ensues as Tassta, her twin brother Penn, and her uncle, try to keep their new visitor and his untold powers a secret.
Griffin is the only survivor of the Guild’s deadly experiments, and they hunt for him because his survival will have dynamic consequences on the world. The Guild believes that Griffin will transform into a G.O.D., a genetically enhanced Omni-dimensional being with limitless abilities.
Will Griffin transform into a G.O.D.? Will he save the children of the Underground from their tragic life? Only time will tell…

The Minter
And Tassta realizes she is falling in love with him
In Blood Master by Kirsten Campbell, Atlanta has been completely leveled by an earthquake, rendering Underground Atlanta a refuge shelter. The displaced people who have survived the devastation of the earthquakes, the Death Plague, and the Clover Virus are forced to forage for supplies. Tassta and her brother Penn are on a raid to locate supplies for the Brotherhood Fortress, a unit of resistance against the cruel Guild Faction, when they encounter Griffin Storm. Griffin is the only known albino left, all the others having died in the Guild Faction’s experiments. As they take Griffin in (he was injured in the raid), they come to realize that he may be the one prophesized to defeat the Guild Faction. And Tassta realizes she is falling in love with him. Griffin is torn between staying at the Brotherhood Fortress with Tassta or returning to the Underground to the children in his care and his best friend, Waylene. Things become more complicated when Griffin begins to undergo a ‘transformation.’
Ms. Campbell’s ability to develop characters is incredible. She makes you want to pull the characters out of the book and talk with them. Griffin is without a doubt the single most sympathetic character I have ever encountered in a novel. He goes through all kids of hell, including a “dipping” experiment at the Guild Faction and the Death Plague. The poor guy just wants a regular life! Is that too much to ask for? And just when you think things might finally start to settle down for him, he starts to “transform.” Why, oh why, can’t he just have a normal life with the woman he loves? He has certainly earned it. The reader will root for Griffin and Tassta the whole way, and can’t help but hope things turn out well for them.
This book also has a completely satisfying ending that makes you want to read the next book, which I will get to very soon! I will never be able to go to Atlanta again without thinking of Griffin and Tassta.

Killer Among Us (Carson Reno Book 3) by Gerald W. Darnell – #Mysteries, #CrimeThrillers, #CrimeFiction

All Carson Reno, Mystery Series Books, are standalone novels. It is not necessary to read them in any particular order .
The witness protection program had simply not worked as promised. He and his wife had been relocated to a one-horse hick town in West Tennessee, with a promise to start life over – on the right side of the law, this time.
His factory job lasted less than a year. A strike and major labor dispute had cost him his job – and his running around with other women had cost him his wife. He never intended for any of this to happen, but it seemed he was meeting failure at every turn. He had made that difficult move from the underworld to the real world with all good intentions of making it stick – it wasn’t working. Things were dragging him back, and he was finding it too easy to drift into the dark side of life once again.
He knew that if he crossed back over, all chances and opportunity for a life in the real world were over – his one chance gone forever. While he resisted, it just didn’t seem to matter – circumstances were taking him back – he couldn’t stop himself.
He started by renewing some old contacts, asking the right questions and finally by offering his services for hire. It didn’t take long for things to happen, andcontract offers coming his way.
They started with a call from Anthony ‘Tony’ Scarsetti. He had worked for Tony in the past, and he believed they held a mutual respect for each other – him for his skills and Tony for his leadership. Tony was a rival of Steve Carrollton, and their competition for the vices in Memphis and on Beale Street was well known. Evidently, Carrollton had been temporarily sidelined – but his operations continued. Tony was looking for some professional help to make his temporary situation a permanent one.
Once again in his life, things were looking up, and he was feeling good about himself – being useful. His skills were needed, and he would again be a contributor. His little house on Mullins Avenue, in this hick town of Humboldt, would also be useful. Quiet, out of the main activity in Memphis, and allowing him to operate under the radar. Besides, the government had bought it, why not put it to good use?
He would start by sharpening the skills that had once made him successful. After all, failure was not anoption in this business – only death. Hours in the local forests and woods would give him the privacy required – he had the perfect set-up and the perfect location. Nobody local to challenge him, and besides, if someone did – he was still the best at what he did. Everybody knew that.

Well written and fun to read.

As a native of the real town that is the setting for most of the Carson Reno adventures, I probably get more involved than the casual reader of mysteries. But, aside from being able to actually remember the locations in the book, the stories are logically devised and well written. Carson, as chronicled by Gerald, is fun to follow.
